Dunno - you would be looking to make the clutch pack thicker to decrease the slip action I guess? Might be a case of getting a spare clutch to fiddle with and swap them over from one extreme on the tolerances to the other... unless our friendly Hondaphiles can tell us which plates we need to pack up to ensure a larger or lesser bite.
My clutch is bob on - had a wobble for a few months with new plates and is now slip free and I am not able, however cool I want to be, to back it in when going down to the gears into roundabouts...

Yes, you want to reduce the friction of the clutch pack to make it slip on the sprag.
Normaly this means fitting thicker steels and/or friction plates at the start of the clutch pack and thinner ones at the end.
Though having a sprag working too hard does cause troubles like I say to the plates above the split hub. These as you can imagine have a hard life one second being driven then being slipped the other way.
When you take one apart you often fit the 2 plates either side of the split are very blued and need replacing quite often.

Re: NC30/NC35 gearbox and clutch technical questions
Thanks guys. Well Id prefer to have a slipper clutch I do admit, as Id love to confidently bash it down through the 'box in such a style. I will be replacing everything, and would keep on top of it. So clutch wise I want to be getting thinner on the plates the closer I get to the sprag. How do I know how far into the stack I want to be thinning them down?
Sorry to need my hand holding ( a bit like ...
but no spat dummy!) but would you be able to reccomend the stack sizing Id need to order? There is a total critical thickness isn't there?

Re: NC30/NC35 gearbox and clutch technical questions
its not hard, and it work the best going into 1st as its such a tall gear and you can do it at any speed under about 60, its always a bit sketchy tho, wack it down 2 gears, let the clutch out and if it steps out then put some rear brake on and it should hold it thereI am not able, however cool I want to be, to back it in when going down to the gears into roundabouts... go Spike
I wouldnt have confidence in it enough to do it going into a corner tho far too sketch to do that and then get leaning over

Anyways, clutchwise - You need to get your verniers out Psycho' and measure the stack - do as Stephen says, stick the thicker ones at the bottom of the stack and make notes of what ones go where. Personally i would not be buying a plte from here and a plate from there etc to make a stack height you want.
The USA crew were using VTR plates as I imagine the NC plates are tough to find rather than for any other reason. Am sure they will correct me if I am wrong..as I am now and again ..lol

Re: NC30/NC35 gearbox and clutch technical questions
i hate the melbourne loop its a horrible corner, i'd rather have a slipper clutch than have the back bouncing around on the way into corners, saying that i did try to back it into the hairpin at Mallory which wasn't too bad but i think its a lot faster if you keep it nice and tidy
