Backed everything off and gave the front end a bounce or two as per DDs instructions, then tightened everything up again and took the bike for a naughty blast up the road! Seems to be fine. I have had a bike with knackered head bearing races so I know the slightly vague feeling it generates through the steering and there was none of that. No clonking on the brakes either so, hopefully, all is well. Find out soon enough as I am going to book a trackday at Oulton to try everything out.
