Disc off set?

What about an FZR1000 EXUP/RU front wheel? They have a slightly wider hub so you might not need quite so much disc offset?

It's for my XV 750 cafe racer, I'm using wire spokes wheels with twin discs, the standard brake is scary!

is that something like a Talon wheel ?

You might find it easier to get a different hub made up, or see if there's something stock from a spoked wheel manufacturer

It's a standard Yamaha wheel from either an RD 400 or more likely a XS 7/850. It's a really nice hub that took ages to find as most are only single disc fitment.
The old disc has about 12mm offset already so I need about 13mm more between the wheel and caliper spacers,
The old discs weight 3kg each! The FZR ones are 1.5kg each but only have about 7mm offset, old ones look more "old skool" and better for it so I will probably go with them.
All this ^ and I'm still learning how to work the lathe!

Anybody what to buy some swarf? "We got both types country and western"

Have you looked at OW01 discs, they had an offset ... maybe EBC do a set to suit cheaper than original

They have have a veyy big offset but they are 320mm so won't fit,
Mine need to be 298mm.
I'll get my ass down the garage tomorrow and have a proper measure up then decide what way to go.

Because there will be a very jagged edge if I try to take 22mm off the diameter of a disc with holes in it!

So is it not possible to move the calipers with new mounts?
If you get really stuck you could talk to EBC, not sure if they still offer the custom service but they made me one offs and the price was not much more than the stock replacement price,
Basically had a 298mm yzf disc fitted to gsxr carrier by them.
