Ok - if you have a fglass top fairing then it could be a bit more awkward to identify the model. Have a quick look at the CDI unit under the riders seat and there should be a model number on there. Alternativley post a picture.
When you start it from cold you'll hear the fuel pump clicking away. It runs for a certain time before stopping which doesn't fill the carbs on some bikes. Flick the kill switch off and then on and it should complete it's cycle ... it slows down and then stops. Now put the choke on and start it. Different bikes like different amounts of choke you may need to experiment a little to find what works best.
Who did you buy the bike off ??? Does it stay outside through the night ???
It sounds like it could do with a bit of a service (most bikes could). Check the air filter, clean the carbs, change the oil, sump plug washer and filter, change the fuel filter, and bleed new fluid through the brakes. Finally have a look at the battery - chances are it's ok but if you can check it with a volt meter - consider changing it although it does get a bit pricey.
All the rest really depends on the model but ....
Screens are available from Skidmarx (model dependant and they're not interchangable)
Headlights - japanese bulbs are rubbish, they'll be 35/35watts but H4 don't fit. You can find other bike's light units will fit and they'll take an H4 halogen 55/60 watt BUT the wire will slowly cook so you must fit electrical relays to absorb the current.
Shock ... it could be the latest shape R6 shock will fit with a little modding
