It'll be back together soon - I'll be doing the 400GB track day definately - and it'll have its beaten up track fairing on for that too - but for the southern ride outs it'll be wearing the good stuff!!! (can't risk that on the track!!)

Is that the same swingarm? How did you get rid of the big heel plate gouge??

Ok You got me on that one reg!!

Its not the same swing arm - I have 5 of them at the moment!! (including the one fitted to the bike)
I didn't take a pic at the beginning so just used a spare I had for comparrison.
I used one of the better ones to polish up and fit to the bike.

I have heard that some Metal or aluminium pastes can be used to fill the gouges and then get filed and sanded smooth once they've hardened.

As for my finger tips they aren't that bad - I have been taking it easy with it, and only doing a bit now and again. Also I have started using one of those Black and Decker Mice sanders which can get in quite a few of the tight gaps ( better than a drill with sanding disc anyway)

i thought your swinger had a much larger scratch in it from the heel plate, is that first ne pictured not the one off the bike? or am i getting it confused, mine had a huge scratch in it too but the carbon guard covered that

ah electric help, fair play man, you're doing something i'd like to do but i'm too lazy so use all the help you can as i'm sure you'll get bored rubbing quickly.

how long have you spent on the swinger and how long do you think it'll take the frame ?
is there anything you can put over the frame (laquer etc) to help it retain the shine or is it going to have to be polished every weekend wether the bike goes out or not ? i ask as i have no experience of anything polished.

keep going anyway man !! :P :P :P

I have probably spent about 3-4 hours on the swing arm. Its nowhere near finished and only the part yuo can see in the pic is actually polished!
The other side still has all the original finish on it.

Last night i stared using a dremmel style tool to polish it up -WOW it is soo quick and easy to do - I have gone through a few of the sanding circles doing it but now moving onto the black and decker mouse will be much easier (I hope) then to the wetand dry followed by micromesh and mops :)

I think the finish will have to be polished every now and again (every time I go out!) but if I keep ontop of it it should be ok.

As for the frame - it is already pretty shiney and I'll just need to take the lacquer off rather than sand it all flat. Thats what I'm hoping for in theory anyway.

More pics later on!!
