I think your right mate , my first attempt must not have been up to scratch as I dont have a decent airline (and now its been robbed from work)
I'll give them a proper stripdown and see if i can sort it out

One thing you could try as I was in the same situation is taking your plugs out and giving them a sand with some 1200grit paper. Then bump start the bike, nothing else worked when I did it, now its running great, might work for you, might not.

Sorry for the rookie question but why bump start it and not non the button? The plugs are not in the best condition so I'll try some from DM

Rules out the chance your battery is causing he issue. Tbh I'm not sure why it works but have had a similar situation on 3 different types of bikes, they would not run on the button, jump starting at the battery and even the starter motor. Soon. As I bump started them they fired right up and ran without issue. Weird but give it a shot, second gear worked a treat for me at a mild jog

Depending on engine and starter spec, the starter motor will draw perhaps 50A or more, so reducing the battery voltage. [to around 10v?]
Bump starting allows full battery voltage to coils.

Just as an update the bikes had new plugs and the jets confirmed to be clear, still the problem there . Head against wall and strike repeatedly , will try the bump start method and after that I'm done I think
