I've never seen a road legal rc30 in the flesh, just the odd trackday/race bike at cadwell!!! lol. I don't think people these days know a classic bike they fell over one!!!!

JC120 wrote:Great pic! I just got a HRC kitted RC30 last week myself. Came with the street parts and a few spares.

Anyone know someone with an extra kickstand, lights, and turn signal brackets? Not the easiest bike to find parts for..

What spec is the bike?

Contact Jim Granger about spares and servicing, his son raced his 130hp 30 at last years Classic TT.
He is at jgrc30 "at" aol.com, his shop is in Reseda near LA.

We did get a lot of 400s in the past but then sometimes none.
That UK NC30 is the most original I have seen, all the original parts as it left the factory with, and un restored.
A friend had a better one, but dropped it off the lorry tail lift.

Paul -

I can`t speak for the front wheel as I use an NC30/VFR750 type on my RC30 but the rear conversion is pretty easy - the drive pin PCD and fitting of the Ducati wheel matches the RC30 one exactly but the centre bore diameter needs to be increased by a couple of mm to fit the nose of the RC30 axle - it`s 10 mins work for a machinist with a good sized mill. That`s all the work you have to do on the wheel but because the overall width of the wheel casting at the centre is a bit more than the Honda version you have to slightly increase the depth of the counterbore in the outer surface of the RC30 gold wheelnut spacer in order to be able to get the nut on far enough to get the split pin/R-clip through the drilling in the retaining bolt. I have a couple of spare RC30 spacers if you need one - I can even modify one for you if you wish.

You`re more of a Ducatophile than I am so you probably do know best, but my understanding was that the 5-spoke wheels on the 748/916 series Ducatis are actually Marchesini, it was the early 3-spokers that were made by Brembo

thanks Rick and good to know

now regarding the rear wheels - bear with me
3 spoke wheels are brembo
5 spoke wheels with the slight indentation on the spokes were again Brembo made to the Marchesini style. these are often fitted to the road bikes, like 748S, 996S, 998BP etc etc
5 spoke wheels with no indentation and no cross hatching on the inside as above, often fitted to the road bikes like the monster S2R or multistrada's
5 spoke wheels with no indentation and a cross hatch on the inside of the spokes were fitted to road bikes like the 748R, 996SPS and R, 998S and 998R often these are mono versions and are in fact (but not always) Marchesini.
the genuine magnesium RS wheels and race wheels are again genuine Marchesini items and weigh nothing. often only come in the gold chromate finish.
i have a front here with a chip in the rim edge, you wouldnt believe how light it is.
