Its still pressing down on it maybe 1/16th of an inch or so when i let go of the lever. is it normal to be like that? I think this is a real honda lever...
That is normal, there needs to be some pressure on the m/c piston otherwise the lever would feel loose and sloppy through it's initial travel.

I've had brake rubbing troubles and this was the first thing I looked at. My trouble is definitely due to the caliper pistons sticking, yet to tend to them.

Dragging brake pistons are rarely due to pistons, by all means clean and polish them but don't put them in a lathe.

Pop out the seals, it is always the outer seal that causes the problem, make up a scraper tool that fits the groove (I use a small boring bar ground to suit). Clean out all the crud.
Clean the seals, do not use solvent, I find WD or Duck oil ideal, don't stretch them as you clean them and then fit them back in. A light smear of copper grease to piston and seals and pop them back together.
Takes a while to do a full set of calipers but they should be perfect afterwards.

pumping pistons until they are nearly out of the caliper before undoing the lines save a lot of hassle, else I use compressed air and a rag to blow them out. Using mole grips is a bad idea.

Don't use copper grease on the pistons and seals, use red rubber grease.

You should only use copper grease on the backs of the pads and on the pad pins.

They ain't rubber - they are silicone/synthetic and impervious to copper grease - been doing it for years and years no probs yet......

But if you have red rubber lube or silicone liquid to hand - enjoy!

Hey guys i used rubber grease.. cleaned the little seals out and all is well!! spins free!

The hardest part was bleeding the brakes!!! i couldnt get the lever to firm up.. finally figured out to loosen the banjo bolt on the m/c and bleed it there first..

good job keithcar!!!!!
takes time and a little patience whilst bleeding the brakes.....you can buy banjo bolts these days that have a bleed nipple built in.makes it a little easier and cleaner.
