So when i got the bike it had been left standing for 12 months and so had a flat battery, I fitted a new one and still no joy with starting and the battery was dead within 24hrs.Then I noticed the keys had a metasystems fob on them and found the metasystems alarm/immobiliser box. The fob wont work with the alarm and the alarm isnt sounding but I guess it still active and has immobilised the bike and even with a charged bike battery it wont allow me to start the bike.
Its a Metasystems M357T-V2 alarm/Immobiliser
I have read up about it and seems I will have to remove it or "pin it out"
Does anyone know how I would pin it out? Cant find instructions for doing so anywhere.
Cheers

I think the code is YB-9 as opposed to YB-7, if you check rick olivers pricelist in the V4 section they are listed there

There shouldnt be any reason to "upgrade" the battery on an NC30 providing everything is working... far better in the long run to make sure your charging system is working well, a larger capacity battery may help mask charging issues and leave you stranded in the middle of no where.
Locate the imobiliser and note where each wire goes incase you want to use it again if you can get it working and just remove it for now, repair any wires that are cut.
pin it out means to bypass it.. basically your immobiler will take a wire and you cut it, two wires from the immobiler sit at each end of the cut, so when you turn off the imobiler it just bridges that connection.. some fancy immobiliers cut 3 or 4 different wires.
find the wire(s) that are split by the imobilser and re-econntec them without the immobiler

Might not be the problem but have had a meta system go wrong on a bike before had to get it removed was soldered into loom all black wiring tabs removed nightmare job. I take it you've tried a new fob battery as it's been laid up?
I

Yeah the alarm is goosed so needs to be removed, found a pin out sheet on visor down so have just tried it now, and hey presto the bike tries to start :)
Will either buy a replacement alarm that can be plugged straight in, or get it properly disconnected at some point, knowing it fires and tries to start is good enough for me for now, think its carbs stripped and clean next, new forks to go in, fairings to repair and respray at some point, need a new battery too.
Will post a vid of the start attempt when I get a chance

Bit of an update, got round to doing a little bit on the nc30 today, swapped the front forks over fo the new (overhauled) ones I bought. Cleaned and greased etc the front brake calipers, cleaned and greased rear caliper. Fitted new chain.
Replaced fuel line as it was old and brittle and I couldn't get it back on the tank. Need to get the tank refitted now and try running her again
