It was on at the start full standard airbox setup, taking the snorkell off improved things. If i get longer needles i'll try it with it in again.

I have a spare rubber flap like CMSMJ1 mentioned.
If you dont have one, you're welcome to try it and see if it helps

I still have the snorkel in the garage, my mates bike has 2 holes cut in the tray below it to allow fresh air into it which i might do and put the snorkel back on to it.
The chrystler mod looks a good job and not expensive either, might give it a go also.

That is the worst thing you can do (cutting two holes in it)

At least 20 to 30 people have tried all sorts of combination of airbox modding, filter modding etc.

They all make the bike run worse to some extent.

If its not runnign properly with a stock filter and airbox then something is wrong.

Get it running properly like that first before you try and tune it (if you follow cammos guide it should be spot on) if your somewhere really above sea level then youll need smaller jets, a lot of south africans have this trouble.

Do you have a copy of the dyno graph so people can see?

How does it feel on the road, is the richness making it bog?

Its silly to tune to AF mixture alone.

Contact you dyno guy and ask him to send email you the plot, should be easy enough for him to do. that's assuming he's saved the run!

Its not just the snorkel theyre talking about, its the flap that sits in front of the carbs (see item 13 on this link http://www.cmsnl.com/honda-vfr400r3-199 ... ml#results)
