Oh and evil chicken with the handle bar thing i pirchased some sticky foam i think its used on pvc windows but i put two pieces on either side of the lock stock and it gave me about 3mm extra space either side which was enough i supose it will prolong the lock stocks life aswell seen as though its not metal on metal

If you look at the top yoke there are two holes with allen head bolts (they may have a grey cover on the them) these locate each bar. If they're in place and you trap your fingers the bars are bent.
Get the bike serviced first then replace them - theyre about £15 secondhand.

Stripped bike down checked everything turns out its got a KnN air filter the fuel filter is nearly new the air box wasnt secured on the top of the carbs (i could fit my finger in the gap and i stripped the exup down tryed to turn the valve manually with plyers and it was siezed up so gave a couple of knock with a hammer and a bit of back bone and it moved so i moved it up and down and all around and now it moves nice and freely so just going to drain the tank fill it with shell v power and see if where winning

It should run a lot better after that.
You can get a cleaning kit for the filter, they do need cleaning from time to time.
