you do have to test each item - and it may be that each of them is fucked = ballache.

replacing the connectors when you have a duff battery and a weak genny alongside a failing reg rec is a recipe for getting stranded somewhere again.

Do the tests in the link I posted above, you could have knackered components which will only break other things if you don't get them sorted.

Finally managed some time to have a look at this problem. I have now wired the three alternator yellow wires direct via a metripack connector to the regulator. Checking the voltage across the battery terminals am getting approx 13.9v. Is this adequate to charge the system. One thing to note, my headlights are wired permanently on(was like it when I bought it). I take it this might pull the voltage down a bit.
