I like to keep an eye on the mileage purely as I believe that if it suddenly changes dramatically it might be an indication that something is not right somewhere. Like when I started to run onto reserve 20kms earlier than normal on a regular basis and discovered the fuel tap to carbs hose had a nasty kink in it, which also caused a slight issue with fuel starvation after running onto reserve.

I got 164km on my last tank. That is the lowest ever. Just started a new job and have been commuting 8km everyday .

My usual range is 180-200. Cruising at 100kph for an entire tank got me about 280km.

I have managed to get 190km's with about 5litres left in the tank and that wasn't conserved riding.

Just switched to reserve on the way to work tonight at 145km...yikes seems very low to me, mostly city driving short trips but still I think I should look into this ??? I just bought the bike so I have no idea what to expect. I will fill up tank again and see what it takes to top it up and edit this post...

OK so I filled up today and it took 12.1 litres after riding just 158km, city mostly, still seems very low to me. By my calculations that's only 37.6 mpg ??? I thought it would get at least 40mpg even in city ?

Yikes, I only average 150 by myself, but I ride hard. Yesterday took a half highway/half city trip with my girl on the back. I reached the reserve at 160km trying to take it a "little" easy. Nothing over 160kph, don't want to scare the missus.

193 again last weekend for me. To be honest, I'm very pleased. I have no idea what I've done to the bike to make any difference (carbs not been tinkered with for several years, and never by me - yet) and no parts have been changed other than normal stuff like plugs, oil and coolant) yet I'm normally getting 10-20k more than I've been getting for years. I used to get 190 or so when I first got the bike, but after a few years it dropped to 170-180 at best. Maybe it's because I spend ages squeezing the last drop in the tank.....

You what? It drinks a litre of oil in a bit over 600 miles??? Does it think it's two-stroke? I've done 80000kms on my NC35 and I've never found it to get anywhere close to the lower mark on the dipstick. I don't recall ever actually topping the oil up between changes. Mine would be in bits trying to find the leak or dodgy valve stem seal!
