I reckon the haynes manual is incorrect when it comes to numbers for the range of nc21/24 carbs.

Haynes manual lies.. it says 110/112 jets yet the NC24 100% comes with 115 jets all round, just extra holes in the emulsion tubes for the rear cylinders.

110/112 are for the NC21 only

Do you have the codes that are stamped on them?

They'll likely start with 8Z followed by another letter.

Most of the NC21 carbs I've come across have 98 main jets all round. I assume they're 21 carbs (possibly Zs?). But some do also have 110/112.

98's aren't listed at all in any of the partsbooks I have. I've checked Versions 3,4 and the final one 7. That coveres all of the NC21 / 24 models including K and Z's. So my guess is that they have been rejetted at somepoint.

Spooky, i'm gutting there, the manuals are like 200+ pages and as they are printed on quite thin paper they take effort to scan so you dont' see the shadow of the page behind it.. they'll be done eventually, in the mean time I dont' mind looking up parts, taking pictures of the odd image if anyone is desparate for it

Interested to see how the '24 needles compare to the nc30 hrc items. They could be a cheap option for those out there that don't want genuine or repro nc30 hrc items.

The HRC items are probably just NC24 needles

Next time I look at the carbs i'll see what the needles say, I havn't got around to stripping them yet as its still running just about :D

Not too sure about that. I have 5 types of nc30 hrc needles, the nc24 needles are similar but taper changes and angle can be very different, even if they visually look similar.

But in saying that, the '24 needles are much closer to the dimensions of the '30 hrc needles than std '30 needles which are miles apart.

We have to get some of the tech back. I try, but am just not dedicated enough.

Saying that, would be looking to take a set of 30 carbs and 35 carbs to Simon-ed's dyno day and see what the crack is back to back...along wiht my programmable CDI

All I need now is an exhaust system and I am rocking!
