Depends on how long you plan on keeping the bike for tbh.

If it's your first 'big-bike' you may only keep it as a stepping stone upto something newer, ie a CBR600 / R6 etc.

Many of the 400 owners also have other bikes too as while the 400 is great fun technology has come on a bit in the last 20 years ^_^

That said dont' be put off buying cheap spares, just be careful how much you decide to spend until you are sure your gonna keep it. you can get carried away easily :)

ohhh near the oo-ja-ma-flop... why didnt you say so? now i know what youre on about lol.

Neosophist- as for keeping the bike, i thihnk she'll be around for a while...
its the same story with my Aprilia RS125- when i bought her she was completely fuc*ed- but i spent 2 years restoring and nursing her.. and when i bought the VFR i never even contemplated selling her.
i think ill either put her in storage soon or turn her into a track bike.
if anything, the VFR can be the Wifeys ride when i graduate upwards...

If you have the space, I'd get as much as I could, you can always sell it on if you ever get rid of the NC.
Some of the parts I've had knocking about are slowly being sanded and resprayed and shall be fitted over the winter so it's all fresh and new for the dryer months.
I've had mine over a year now, almost the longest I've owned a bike for before moving on to something else!! I'd like to think mine's a keeper too. My wife is rather surprised! :D
