Thansk for the reply, he's offered me £1200 for my current bike, i really liek the NC29 and thought this looked liek a good condition model (I wasn't aware these may not be original fairings, decals missing etc.). I'll offer him £1500 for it i think, or is this too low? I really have no idea and don't want to overpay, i made the mistake on my last bike by going in with the atttude that i need to leave with a bike, don't want to make the same mistake again and be out of pocket.

If you print off the picture from the main info page -
viewtopic.php?f=26&t=18530
The differences are there to see.
If you search Durkas posts there are some pictures of the fairings when he had to cut his down, which I also had to do on mine. The graphics are from Image Works and go for £122 the full originals will cost nearly a £1K and look better and fit better.
I bought a wrecker for £600 and then rebuilt it from there, I reckon mine is worth around £1500. Prob spent £2K+ bought bits in dribs and drabs and took over a year to complete ( 4 months to get on the road ) - spread out the pain.

Thanks gullarm, maybe i don't know what i'm looking for but the only difference i see is the front mudguard being a different colour?
From what you said i'm guessing 1500 would be a top end valuation on this bike?

well if all things look good after viewing then 1500 seems a good max but im sure the dealer may not think so. one thing i noticed it has later R model forks so maybe look around for any head damage, it may be just an upgrade though. also look in the area of the japanese flag sticker on the main frame left side. whats it hiding? doesnt look too bad in the pics just check it out and get your best price.

Good spot, after speaking to someone who knew the previous owner I'm going to take 550 in cash, he has offered me 1200 for my current bike.
On a side note does anyone know where I can get restrictions? the dealer wants £250 and i could risk some £50 ebay ones but these seem expensive.
They've had the bike for 4 months and I can pay in cash so have some good bargaining points, also will try to memorise most the points you have listed (i'll make a list anyway but don't want to pull out a piece of paper if I can avoid it - makes me look knowledgeable)

I'd take Petrolhead up on his offer and purchase his NC29 mate!! I've followed the project thread and he's done a good job on rebuilding it.
I personally can't stand dealers. They all lie through their teeth and the prices are always above market price.
NC29s' are only worth about 1000 pounds in NZ by the way

That's the plan hopefully. Thanks for the reply.
