You may be right. I'll chat to Tony and see if he's up for it.

I'm aware we all need to have workable bikes for the May Day run to Hastings.

Right I've spoken to Tony and the engine and swing arm are coming out next weekend.

My plan was to drop out the engine at a later date and then paint the engine black as I don't really like the raw finish on it. Any advice on which paint to use?

 give a man a shovel and he'll dig himself a hole

I remember the original conversation about getting this bike on the road, it was something like, sort the oil leak, replace some missing parts and a service. Oh how that has changed

Yes but by the end of it I'll have one really nice bike with two sets of amazing bodywork.

Engine paint wise id go for either the stuff that Tim used on his engine, or if you wanted a similar match to the NC30 colour then ford graphite grey metallic is pretty close, RSbikepaints do a match for the RC30 engine paint too which would look nice. I agree though anything will look better than the bare metal finish as standard.

I had a big clear out in the garage the other night and decided to put my original new body panels into the loft for safe keeping.

I've collected quite a bit of bodywork over the years so that'll all now be sorted and either kept and used or sold on. I've got an original nosecone off being fixed and painted at the moment along with the bodywork for the permanant set of clothes this will be wearing. But the good thing is I'll have a complete set of mint bodywork to put on if I ever decide to sell it or if I decide to turn it back into a standard bike.

Also had another delivery the other day. My Chinese Rads turned up.

Got a fair bit to do on Sunday though so the engine is coming out to do the valve clearances and for me to degrease, clean, degrease, clean and then prep for paint. I was thinking of going Satin Black or perhaps I may go for a nice Silver Grey colour. Not sure at the moment so I'll discuss that with my Project Manager on Sunday lol

Bit more progress today. Engine and swingarm have been removed from the frame and the headstock is out also.

Lots of help from Tony today. Thanks Pal.

The next week or so will be filled initially with degreasing and cleaning the frame and engine. The engine is going to be getting a nice coat of paint before it's popped back into it's frame.

Also set about preparing the discs ready for painting. Very time consuming  Lots of time still to be put into these though.

Lots of other bits and bobs to do to the bits that I still have here. A load of stuff has gone off to be blasted and zinc'd. And best news of all the painter should be about to start the painting of the body panels so in a couple of months it should be almost complete.
