Personally i think that USD forks look pants on an NC30 with standard shape bodywork just look slightly too modern against the older style of the 30. They do look very good on the 35 or 30's with silhouette bodywork fitted mind.
At the end of the day its your bike and anything we say is unlikely to change your mind if you like the USD's that much

Same thoughts really, not sure I have even seen USD forks on a standard shape nc30 but I dont think it would look great.
The reason for the facination is that I didnt get to buy that oki that was on here (jamboys) and have seen a couple now i really like - marcus57's / jamboys - i really liked them so i may have to just go ahead and build something similar!
I might grow out of it v quickly as i already have a standard type 3 scheme ready to go - but for now that where I am probably going with this. I am just collecting the parts so - hopefully I might be able to get it at least started over the winter.

personally I dont see why everyone has to chip in saying "they dont like them" or " waste of money" its your bike Adam get it the way you want, its your ride not theres lol, hell if you dont spend the money on the forks youll no doubt spend them on something else that will have you later thinking i still want the forks.
I've has allsorts of comment especially about my gold wheels, i feel like saying fuck off!
lets be honest and if put in lehmanns terms if you dont like a t-shirt you dont buy/wear it simples

i dont mind the opinions, good to hear a few thoughts and it at least makes you think about something you havent already. Especially the reduced turning circle which i hadnt realised and has made me think twice.
After saying they might not look that nice on a standard fairing, at least at the angle in the pic I think they look really nice.
Each to their own. Like I said - its a marmite thing.
If no one had differnet opinions I would be building another type 1............lol.

id bet £20 i have more of a reduced turning circle on my NC30 than an NC35 front end up grade!
i have made adjustable lock stops, and have a 100mm sprint steering damper,
there is no need for massive lock whilst riding only when manouvering on the driveway etc, i like a tight front end.

I think it depends on the reason for upgrading the front forks, I also don't see anything wrong with people saying they don't like it, especially if they have used them.
If you want to do a USD conversion then there are plenty of other forks that can be fitted that offer an improvement over the NC35 items, as well as the USD look.
After-all isn't it about not only building custom bike but getting the best bang for buck?
RVF forks command a good premuim and offer no extra adjustments than the 30 forks (the internal setup is very similar)
3 way adjustable USD's can be had and fitted for similar money.
It is also too easy to get hung-up on looks, sometimes an opposite opinion helps to level the perpective out and give you time to think.
If you are really commited then you will do it no matter what, but I'd be willing to bet at least half the people who got carried away with fork conversions, paint schemes and what not would have spent the money on more important things first if they had the chance again, I've been in the same situation.
Upgraded the front forks, had a respray but the rear-shock was shot to shit, the engine was rough and it just generally didnt feel good to ride apart from looking the part, what really brought it home was riding a 'shed', same model of bike but cosmetically old and tatty, but with great forks, clean new bearings and good brakes, was like a new bike.
You can't expect everyone to blow sunshine up your ass with every idea.
The reduced lock, cost of parts and no real perfomance increase leave lot of people dissolusioned with this idea which is why people note their opnions.
Nobody is stopping him doing it, but at least now he has something to think about
