if im just going to get nothing but angry replies, and replies that take piss, or anything within those lines, im gonna have to stop using asking questions here. you guys are driving me out of this place more each day. i know a lot of you have been supportive, but seriously.... there is a line, a line where you take shit seriously and stop taking the piss. all i want is to ride this bike. for the amount of life its got left in it. i asked one simple question, and im already getting grief from the admin of this site. i dont even know who started accusing me of not taking advice from people. the FUCK i dont, if i didnt then i wouldnt be here right now.. why do you think i keep on asking questions if i didnt listen huh? whats the point in that then?

The point is that you were told the causes of your problems long ago. You've not done anything to fix it properly and now the problems are back again.

Several of us have offered to come up there and sort the bike out for you and you could have watched and learned how to diagnose and fix it for the next time something goes wrong. You declined and took it to a garage who, as it turns out, obviously haven't done a fucking thing to fix it and you're now lighter in the wallet.

If one of us had been up to sort the bike out, you'd be on the road by now and you wouldn't be asking these questions again and again. Remember that we're enthusiasts and most of us know more about 400s than your average spanner monkey will ever know.

Now which bit of that don't you understand?

i understand every single bit of that thunderace, but i am 19. i cant afford to pay 200+ for your accommodation, fuel money and time. i just cant, no other way around it. i cant simple post my engine either. believe me, i WISHED one of yous could come over, or at least if i had lived closer to you guys. but i live alll the way p in the ass crack of the highlands. which is annoying for me. i have done stuff to fix most of the problems, they go away and then they come back, which is what i dont get, am i not doing it right? maybe i aint, maybe im doing a half job. i dont know. the point is, i DO attempt, and temporarily fix it, but it just keeps coming back.

No one is shooting you down for having a go but the point is that you can't just expect a temporary fix to last. You've been advised on the correct way to repair things but you don't do it. I appreciate that money is an issue but instead of charging in like a bull and doing a botch up on the cheap, why not save up for a few weeks and get the job done properly?

It's not entirely your fault, I guess it's just the impatience of youth. But you have to understand that most of us have been round the block a few times and have seen this all before and it gets a little frustrating....

Right this one (and any others that go over the same ground) is done now.
read the advice, action the advice. then enjoy your bike - or just sell it please.

well - did you replace the coil / plug ? fixed the issue yet?

well yes, i did fix it actually. it was one plug that was causing it. when i removed my plugs, i mixed one new with one old. and i swapped it and now its fixed.

as said ages ago, all symptoms classic of a failing plug and / or coil.
next time listen and act on the advice and save yourself a load of stress. some of us have owned these V4's for many many years and are quite aware of the symptoms.
