Interesting to see why you moved the reg/rec.. in the original position there is some wind and the subframe metal acts as a heatsink.. they are supposed to run quite hot so the fan might be a bit of overkill?

Bloody hell thats either gone up by alot in the last year or i was looking at the wrong part code when i checked.

And fair one for attempting to do this yourself rather than just buying new, i cant stand electrics when it comes to bikes im nervous about re-wrapping mine let alone building a new one!

i'm looking LED replacements for my stock bulbs. i dont want to take my clocks apart to fit the tape like you have but hope i can fit an LED bulb to fit the standard holders.

If you want my opinion, don't be afraid of the tape job. By installing the tape you do not do ANY ireversable damage.If you do not like the outcome you can always rip thee tape off and install bulbs at any time.
You won't have to drill cut,melt,heat or do anything at all to the clocks body or the clocks themselves.The led tape has self adhesive material on its back.
You can always try led bulbs but they won't come close at all.

unfortunately the vfr doesn't have the same clocks as the rvf, the rvf has the 3 guages mounted in one unit, the vfr has a seperate unit for each guage.

so the tacho and the temp have to be taken apart ( they dont unscrew like the speedo) and then the wiring will be seen going between the 3 guages..

i think the easier option is to buy LED bulbs.

To be honest, i have never seen or dismantled the clocks of a vfr ,so, you should know better.
Just keep in mind that most T10 wedge led bulbs have directional beam of light, this means that they will illuminate your clocks but you will see illuminated spots in your clocks.
For example a T10 wedge led bulb will illuminate 2 spots in your tacho not the whole diameter. In a few words they have a very small illuminating angle.
On the other hand there are some T10 wedge base led bulbs that (according to the manufacturer) have a wider illuminating angle, these bulbs are not that bright.
Maybe you should try these.

I think it is sad that other less informed individuals might follow such tacky examples. However, your work is outstanding.

Just a question about the wire. I have used Spec 55 in the past (all in white) for rewiring , which is a similar wire to the one you have used. Have you found that this silver coated wire wire can take a higher load for a given gauge than standard copper? I have seen some tables on this but they were a bit vague.
