i had a full piss about yesterday with modifying and unmodifiying the airbox. changed needle heights and all sorts. Nothing worked at all.

tried new coil and leads and even that didn't work.

Its got 120 jets in it but its just hopeless.

That's way too lean with a foam filter it will never rev out, see my previous post.

128f/132r would be closer to the mark.

Roger that - I run 130 now in my RVF carbs and no airbox lid. 120 is not having it for a race bike with foam filter. I used a 135 set when I had HRC foam filter instead of o/e

get it on some proper jetting matey :ugeek:

ran the bike on the stock filter and a foam filter. run it with 3 different airboxes and still no goodies. ****** about left right and centre on the carbies and nothing made a noticable difference. Obviously changed the way it run but never got running right beyond 2nd. even 2nd wasn't right. could make it worse (i.e. screw with the jets and needles sizes/heights) till it wouldn't leave 1st but never looked like it was gonna pull outta 2nd.

could it be the computer ignition box thing on the bike. aaaaarrrrrggggg.

It should run half decently through most of the gears if you return the airbox and filter to standard with 120 jets.

Are you sure the carbs are working properly? Pilot screws set properly (2.2.5 turns out), pilot jets cleaned, jets cleaned, no air leaks around rubber manifolds, etc.

The problem could also be related to fuel breather lines, etc, and a long shot but could be electrical related (reg/rec etc).

hey that was what i was getting at. it wont run reasonable regardless of anything carby (i.e. needle and jet) or airbox so it aint related to those. previously cleaned carbies but might stick a different set onto it. Have some extra rubbers (in case i get lucky) lying about so might try those to. pilot screws were set at 2.5 i think.

def not a fuel line problem. had those and solved those.

the only other thing is the bike is running total loss (pain in the arse, dont ever do this). cant see where issue may be (def got shit loads of spark and voltage, even under load)

will probably take me another 2 weeks to be motivated enough to touch it though.

cheers for your help fellers.
