considered the tyga painted kits? Updated my thread with some decent photo's before, take a look - the kit is well worth the money and fit is pretty much perfect and colours are a perfect match.

I would consider the painted tyga kit but since I already have a silhouette kit here for it its not an option. I've had a think about it and have decided to paint the purple and black on rather than decal it.

Well small progress has been made, full system, maxton, PFM iron discs, RO rads and rear subframe fitted along with a few other bits and pieces.

Next up is to give the carbs a strip and clean and finish repairing the bodywork which has turned into a massive job but the end result will be well worth the effort. The eagle eyed will notice the rear subframe being a VFR part as will the front subframe when i get one, this is all part of the big plan to make it more RC45 like ;)

Looks brilliant, them discs look good really need to pull my finger out and buy some! How does having a VFR front and rear subframe make it look more like an RC45 btw?

As the fairings are all VFR items i thought i best fit them on before i do any more work to them. I used a RVF front subframe which im told sits 10-15mm higher or lower than the VFR subframe so wasnt expecting to fit straight off but it looks ok to me.
Image
There is some play at the front so it will go 10-15mm either way
Image
The RVF screen brace is too short to fit the upper mounts
Image
Not a problem i can have some new mounts welded further up but id rather know if the front mount is right first, anyone fitted VFR fairings to a RVF before? doubtfull i know
Right lower mount fits perfect, as does the mid mount.
Image
The left lower didnt, not sure why i know the sidestands are different but lowers are identical aint they?
Image
Made a bracket for the meantime

Once i know the front mount is right i need to fabricate a bracket to fix to the front subframe that will hold a VFR headlight, RVF lights wont fit the VFR nosecone plus the RC45 used a VFR400 headlight so it makes sense to me. The right headlight hole is being blanked off and the space used to house the overflow bottles.

Im kinda liking the castrol scheme, shame the fairings are battered and chunks missing :o
