Haha! I like your style, although I bet if I try that I'll hydraulically lock the motor and do some serious damage! Ive heard of it happening on a 2 stroke motor before.lizard821000 wrote:i had the same proble mate, i tapped all the carbs with a rubber mallet n screw driver and it stopped the overflow....... and prob had a sticky shut of valve too, sorted with a general tapping .
i used an auxilry tank too, gravity feed. i feared i most likely flooded a cylinder, i just run it up to clear it out lol am i fk taking her apart again to remove the buried plugs on these things!! lol

lol yeah easy to happen on a 2t, its only the reed valves acting as the fuels pathway. didnt really think about it when i done mine, i just fired her up and after 10-15 seconds the 4th cylinder popped into life lol sounds fine now.

Re: NC35 refitted cleaned carbs.... fuel leaking out of over
Im pulling my hair out now, Ive had the carb thats leaking (number 2) stripped down again, the float valve is clean, no sign of any debris, so the only thing left is float heights Im guessing? Checked Float height and all seems to be correct at 12.5 mm but i have no idea if im measuring at the correct location?
Rigged it all back up, didnt fit the carbs to the bike, just put them in a pastic tray... turned on aux tank and it did the same again, pissed everywhere!

Ah man, that is bad times mate. Try letting then stand for a few hours with the feed, see if the leaks stop them selfs, did you fit new orings etc? I overhauled my carbs about 4 months ago and left them to stand dry.... When I filled them up fuel pissed everywhere! Lol but only for 20 mins or so till the new rubber had time to expand etc and seal. Now I have no leaks, I had the overflow problem too but as said sorted that with some tapping.... Can you actually see when the leaks are? Or is it still just the overflows?
Iv always wonderd how they shut off well becuase of the carbs angel!? Wouldn't really make for a clean seat every time the float blow filled up! A guideing pin would have been better design....

It'll be the rubber tips on the float valves thats causing it, try soaking them in petrol to softern them up or get new ones. Had the same problem a while back.

it's looking like I've set the float heights wrong! I've got Paul's guide cut out now, and have set them using that, so far so good, got 3 done, just one more to check. I think I've been setting the floats too high
