So you reckon that a touring tyre for ZZR1400s that will struggle to warm up and has a dodgy profile is going to be better than a tyre that fits, will warm up and also has a dodgy profile (in your opinion)?

Well ive riden 16000 kms only using 92 rears and found it to be ok, it is right on the edge at some high speed corners though and knee down is difficult, but then again ive had no experience whatsoever with the 090. Managed to hang on to a 08 R1 through the sweepers the other day mind and we where on the wrong side of bye bye license speeds so i dont think they are horrendous but i spose i need to fit an 090 to really find out.

I'm starting to have second thoughts about having bought a pair of 92s.

92s are good tyres. Without specifically wanting to call Kieran a dickhead..then trying to get kneedown on them is not exactly what they are for.

If you want some uber grip then 090s. If you want to go fast, do some miles, go fast, do some miles etc..092s

An 092, a few years ago mind...after a trackday at Cadwell - loads of grip, got snotty and too hot..but gripped.

Pretty much sounds like my kind of riding. I'm not quick by anybody's standards, and do like the odd jaunt up to Ipswich and back.

Didnt mean to say that knee down is what they are for but they are definatly grippy enough to get some decent lean in the bends, the reason ive had 92's fitted for the past year is because i have used the bike to get to work and use as a general runabout all year round which is definatly the right tyre for the job which included riding home in the ice at -13c and i managed to keep it rubber side down for the entire duration of winter and all of last summer, now things have changed and i will not be riding the bike to work so i am going to be replacing the tyres with 090's to use as a bike just too hoon about on. So i agree with what ive quoted here mixed riding then go with the 92's

Thanks for this CRM, I think you've sold me on the BT090's! For the first few sets anyway, I'd rather have more grip even if this decreases the tyre lifespan.

Well im not sure if the 090 would do better at riding home in the ice i would have to leave that to somebody else who has used them to answer, but seeing as the 92 is a sports touring tyre you would assume its going to work better in adverse conditions than the 090 would.
