Hi i got a set of 3tj calipers and forks with 100mm spacing. do you think i need to change the disks aswell as the calipers sit off to one side. I have shimed the calipers to centre them on the disk whitch i think should be ok. Any ideas

To be honest it sounds a bit dodgy - I'd never shim a caliper although I'd have proper plates if I had to.
If your forks have 100mm spacings use a Blue Spot caliper, it should bolt straight on

I have shimmed calipers many times,But it cannot be excessive,How thick a shim and what material have you used.

Hi i have had to shim them about 6mm. At the moment as a trial fitting iv just used 2mm thick steel washers. Once iam sure ill make up a stainless steel solid shim. And longer caliper bolts. I was thinking if it was too much i could shim the disk out 2mm and the caliper out 4mm. I think these calipers really need disks that are offset where as my mates are flat. But first i need to get the bloody flywheel off and the windings repaired. Thanks

If you have the original bar ends (they screw in) I think you can use them as a flywheel puller. It's just what I heard so not sure if it's true.

I thought 3TJ forks had 86mm spacing? I thought it was the 1WG 3ENs that had 100mm
My 3EN1 took the Blue Spots as a direct replacement for the OE gold calipers, no spacing needed.

he hasn't got offset discs though, so his problem lies there i think! what diameter are the discs you are using as i have a set of 3en1 with the offset.

I still fancy putting some blue spot calipers on my 3tj.
Ive only ever seen them on racebikes, so someone must make them
