ill upload a pic of how i have mine,it doesnt look right but cant work out another way as carb tray gets in the way

bottom flaps tucked under the carbs and the top is now folder back towards the front underneath the carb tray
wrong flapy thing or wrong carb tray or me being a bit slow ?

That top flap (teehee) goes between the carb and the motor. Definately not in the way you have it now.

out of alm the diy tasks iv done this has to be the most annoying lol
so where does the bottom one go,anyone got a pic of them in place with carbs on?

The bigger one sits on the front head.

This is how mine was and looked undisturbed.
The air box draws it's air from the chamber above the airbox base plastic extension
As far as I can make out, cold air to cool the carbs flows through the plastic duct under the headstock [ the chamber is formed by that and the underside of the airbox base]
The large lower rubber flap sits on the cam cover and the tapered upper on sits under the carbs and on the lower one, but does not touch it, leaving a small an air passage to the carbs.
There is also a gap each side of the upper flap.
The lower and upper rubbers keeps heat from rising to the air box and channel cold air to the carbs.

i now have the bottom flap folded back towards the top rad covering the plugs and the top flap tucked under the carbs

That will work, cold air will still flow under the carbs, but heat from the front head is less shielded.
