the lad is gonna get confused!! i meant counter-clockwise on the pinch bolt to loosen it, and then counter clockwise on the hub to tighten the chain tension.
it sounds complicated but when you get stuck in it makes far more sence !!

Also it is best to do it on a paddock stand as the weight of the bike will be pulling the chain tighter as the rear shock will be compressed.

Also check the chain tightness when you are sat on the bike as that will compress the rear shock even more and make the chain tighter.
