ok well i tried all i can with the forks and no luck , even tried other calipers but too much messing around now . so does anyone know if the innards of the two forks be the same ? if so i can just replace the working parts from one fork to another ........

It's not something I know either way. I think it might be better to try and find out what forks you have first. You've said they're 38 dia which I'd say are probably FZR600 3HE, from there on it gets a bit tricky.

You could open them both up and see if they'll build together.
You could look for the rest of the 600 front end and put it all on your bike.
