i still havent worked it out i dont mind to much as its winter weather any way but would like to get sorted asap

There is no black/red wire on the 73a so you'll have to work it out on yourself. I wonder if its off a 76a!
You can derestrict the 73a by simply fitting a 1.5K ohm resistor to the cdi end of the green/yell wire that goes to the gear sensor. this is connected to the frame so the cdi only reads 1.5k ohm, the other end of the green/yell wire that goes to the gear sensor is left loose, sorted!!
