the tap filter is built into the tubes attached on to the tap, and they are def. in the tank! you can get filters a lot cheaper than that, just match the diameter of the fuel pipe to the filter.

I take your word for it but I just rang Fowlers again and they cannot find anything in the tank. Shall have to see how it goes.

If I take the tap out will I see them or do I have to remove reserve sensor aswell?

It's on top of the fuel tap - all bikes have them.
Fowlers probably can't find it because it's not an available part, it's sold as a tap unit.
