often don't need a new alternator but just the stator - around £40/£50 - see if graham france has one.
can also get yours re-wound if you can wait
not too bad a job to swich the stator over IIRC

I had a quick look yesterday but not sure if I have found the correct connector plug. The one I have found is on the right hand side (brake side) it is at the back top side behind the fairing near the frame, it has 3 yellow cables coming out if it and feels a bit loose, is this the correct plug?

I don't believe so, tho I may be wrong, I'm still finding my feet with mine. It'll be between the frame rails and above the engine, but under the carbs.
Where are you located, have you followed the details here

Should be in the V between the front and rear cylinders but exact position could vary I guess. However, it will be three yellow wires, the same ones that appear at the rect/reg. You need to make sure the connections are in good condition. Quite often they are not, was the problem on my bike, plastic body had melted and two wires were in contact and third had broken.

hi i took a picture of what i think are the cables just double checking with you guys first?
also bike felt like that it was running on 3 cylinders, being very lump and back firing, could this be because that the bike is running just from the bat?
