Yeh, once I was back in the garage I noticed that the horn, rear light/brake light, licence light all did not work but had head lights.
I hunted this problem down to the wiring for the digital gauge to the CDI rpm wire. I unexplicably had a small bit of exposed wiring from the gauge which were touching when I had wrapped it up. Fixed it, re-wrapped the wiring, switched the ignition on and the fuse did not blow, repeated this a few times to make sure and all was still good.
Makes sense to me now why the rpms were slightly unsteady during the ride, did not click in my head at all.
