Nice result, although not too surprising. I think that the main way that the rvf was restricted to 53hp is via the standard exhaust system.

I put a standard rvf exhuast system on my '30 to quieten it down (it replaced an aftermarket half system) and was shocked at the drop in power, even with an aftermarket can fitted.

Hummmmmmmm , had some time this afternoon to play with the ignitech , i have tried the stock map and the hrc map with various +advance and - advance settings and lots of different combinations on both maps ,ive done about 25 runs back to back and the best run of the day was 64.89 bhp with the STOCK CDI . even with the stock uk map loaded into the ignitech testing back to back with the stock cdi its 2.5bhp down compared to the stock cdi.

That isnt the first time ive heard that, i think your only see the benefits once you start playing with the motor

So why is the Ignitech down on power even when it has the same map loaded as the stock cdi :?:

Interesting ? , even on a stock motor it should make the same power as stock cdi but i couldnt get it close, even with slight adjustments either side of the advance curve with the uk map loaded. has any one had good results with one on a stock motor.

Interesting reading! im coming from the Suzuki side of things but they used a retarded pickup trigger to give 53hp.
Do you Honda nerds know if there were different triggers on the late/early V4's as the HRC map could have been designed for an early 59 hp motor and may not work so well with a 53hp one.
Kev could you explain the AF graph a little? you have quite a dip in the lower rev range, is this due to it being a little rich or weak?

Its runing a bit on the rich side midrange but the needles are fixed so cant be dropped , i may have to go for some rick oliver slide springs to smooth that bit out, i have only just built the bike and sorted the main jets out up to now , it is a little rich at the top end as well BUT thats what makes the best power and best curve so the mains are properly selected dont rely or tune a engine just to a AFR reading it can be misleading.

I've got a post on here of back2back Dyno runs between stock CDI and Ignitech with multiple maps. 'Improved standard' map from Rick gave me the best results.
