Yes thanks for that, I do think they are fully home as when you push em they do seem to "lock" in place?

sounds as if they're home ok, mine gave a def 'clunk' when fitting. i may have a set of 3en1 rubbers but i think there was a difference in their height, and again i dont know if they are even any good.

I think there are 3 possible things that could be wrong
The carbs aren't home or the clips aren't done up properly

The rubbers are shot

They're not 3TJ rubbers - which is why I said to check the part numbers on them.

I don't thing 1WG rubbers will work. 4JH rubbers might but they could be longer ... or shorter so you might have a problem with the airbox fitting under the tank

Even though I am away from the bike I know that it says 3TJ on the lip of the rubbers but there is other writing aswell.

Please note that at the moment the clamps are not used because they are being removes so often. A good forum member races without the clamps as all is well

Put the clamps back on :o

It might work for a one person but they're there to seal the rubbers to the carbs ... the very problem you have now. At least it proves Yamaha's design works.

Yes ok, I though about modifying a bit of the clamp so it would do up tighter, dealer said no but I reckon that's where the leak is as all four seem affected? What do you think?
(I guess mr yamaha had a reason the clamps are like they are, probably not for overtightening!)!
