Well,

Not heard anything from the ultrasonic guy but gonna go over to pdq in maidenhead tommorrow to get the set of 112 jets + drill to open out piston holes + glue to fit brass adapters to top of needle jets.

tbh i don't see what these brass collars are suposed to achieve, dynojet say they must be fitted with the high point towards the front of the engine but all they appear to do is take the effect of the needle jet retaining spring away and stop the retaining plug from seating fully.

puzzled !!!!

hopefully have some answers tommorrow

HI All,

After a trip to pdq in windsor today i found out brass collars don't go on top of needles, they go on what americans call needle jets ( emulsion tubes)

So removed all collars from pistons and waiting for carbs to return from being ultrasonically cleaned so i can build up.

They advised i didn't drill holes out in pistons, but as i've got 2 sets of pistons i've got nothing to loose.

THey also said there was no difference between A & B type carbs so should be no issue mixing on the same rail - hope this is true - lol

Hi All,

PIcked up carbs from ultrasonic cleaners this afternoon - they are absolutly spotless

But,

Dynojet dealer speak with fork tonge !

Ultrasonic guy found that profile of needle jet is different on A to B type carbs and I found that the hole in the piston you drill when fitting dynojet is different as well, A type had been drilled and B type have the same size hole as standard !

Hopefully needle jet profile wont be a major issue, not convinced though, carbs now all back together. Hopefully can get some time tommo afternoon to fit to bike and see how it goes
