no. you can use jump leads if you want to - but let it cool between 15s attempts

charging system failure is also common...

Got a multi meter here somewhere, what should the voltage be when charging?

approx 14v - any higher than 15 and you have a fucked regulator and any lower you have a fucker regulator and/or knackered stator!

check the wiring and connectors too - they can get brittle and char with age!

hi guys

just to let you know, It was the battery, the moment I put the battery in that I got from honda... she started, now just to take the carbs of and set the jets right, she only revs to 9000rpm when warm.
