Re: speedo limiter - read a few weeks back that if you fit one of the blue Motrax converters to the back of the speedo so that it now reads in MPH instead of KPH the limiter wont get used due to the fact you will never get near the now necessary 150/160 mph....

yup thats right.
but no good if you have a MPH speedo face already fitted.
there are a few ways round the 112mph limiter.
1-blue motrax converter
2-removing the disk from inside speedo
3-plugging a Resistor mod in to the back of clocks loom or fitting direct to CDI loom
the 3rd lets you remove the clocks and use digi dash or track/race set ups.

LP I'm not suggesting that you would get any complaints from what you are providing, I just can't agree with the advertising for payment for material that you do not own the copyright to.

I understand that a small number of people are unable through whatever reason to find the material, but surly that is what a forum like this is here to provide. And by reading your contents list it sounds like some of that information might well originate from this site.

I also understand that you would like recognition for the work you have put into this venture, but wouldn't the knowledge that your helping other fellow bikers out be enough. It would be for me, but I'm not attempting to take any moral high ground here.

Finally while it is admirable that you will provide specific information by request why don't you simply upload all the material to a file share for all to access?

i am on 1MB line speed.. it would take agggeeeeesss
to upload files. some of the smaller ones are uploaded already and i have posted links in the last 6 months in various places. its quicker and far easier for me to burn a disk than wait for uploads! i am waiting for a tech section to be added to the site so i can add the info i have. the manuals wont be added as Dave and co wont have them for obvious reasons. is i spot a Question on a particular part number and i have my info with me i do post up the answer or whole page as i have done in the past.

only the res mod came from the old site. it was originally instructions for the NC30s. with some research i have made instructions for each specific bike model. one pager per bike. these are available to anyone who asks free. i just sell the kits to those who dont want the hassle of hunting for parts or dont know how to solder them up properly + the M-boxes in my eyes are a rip off at over £10 for a bulky box that comes with no instructions/crimps (mine didn't).
the H4 mod came from a forum member (already said thanx) + VFR750 site thats now gone. as i did the mod to my own headlights i was able to do a step by step + pics. also available to anyone who asks.
the other de-limiter info is old hat info.

the only things i do charge for are what i paid for in the 1st place. discounting haynes as its not in this picture.
the NC29 microfiche's i bought from ebay years ago and had them scanned in. the honda common manual i cant remember where i found that, NC29s owners handbook was bought from ebay last year and transformed in to .pdf same as the HRC manual bought off ebay.
worked out what it costs me to produce 1 disk.....

.16p- per CDR white top verbium (sp?) or well known make so they last, less coasters
.30p printing ink
.52p postage as they are classed as large letters, its more if posted overseas
.10p CD case
.40p ebay after sale fee
£2.70 ebay insertion, gallery, subtitle fees
.42p PayPal fee
.50p from 1 manual £30 as i think have sold 50-60
.30 from 2nd HRC manual
£2 of my time (@£10 an hr) as it takes me 10 mins from reading an email, setting up online postage, printing label, burning disk (X8 speed = more reliable disks), printing envelope.
=£7.53 and i sell them at £6.50....damn and thats not inc electricity i have used or my design time on the labels.

Selling them by your own calculations at a £1 loss isn't the best business practice, and I'm sure the Dragons above would agree. All the more reason to upload them to a file share for all.

Even with a 1mb line its still possible to upload and download large files. Try a site like RapidShare or Megaupload, they're even free. While it will take some time to upload, as it will with everyones connection this shouldn't put you off. While they are uploading you can continue to surf the net or even pop out for a little bike ride. Once the upload is complete you are given a URL which you can then post here. No maintenance is required to the upload and as the file is hosted elsewhere there is no implications for this site. So what do you say?

i know about file hosting, been using phtobucket for years, signed up to Mediafire last yr for .pdfs
tried to use rapidshare last yr for a large file and gave up as it had been split and could only DL 1-3 at a time! not heard of the 2nd one, will have a nosey at it at lunch time.

the free stuff, will still be free. i'll hunt down the URLs from media fire on the mod stuff. in the VFR section one of the mods pinned a thread with "useful info"... can we do the same if i create a thread with the mods links posted?

the rest sorry will stay as available on the disk. why? coz as they sell off via PayPal it lets the account slowly build up for rainy days/parts for my bike.
