And you cut bits of my post out.

Apologies Neo, just a bit of over zealous quote editing.

So in a nutshell its nearly a complete NC29 Front end with the best bits off an NC 30 front forks,

wonder if its worth the hassle, for a wider variety of tyre choice albeit better brakes

Depends.

You can get BT39's quite easily over here in the NC24 size.. these are a sports tyre that work really well with the NC24.

Not seen them in England.

If your still running a crappy average tyre on the rear then loading up the front isn't really worth it.

You can get good performance from the standard brakes if your clean them up and renew all the rubber seals on them and use good pads!

I don't know what to suggest.. it's all money I wouldn't throw at one... perhaps try and get the best rubber available in the standard size and put some fork springs in it and overhaul the calipers.

Anything else is just silly teriroty, and unless your building a vintage class race-bike id just be happy with what it offers.

I think the line "it's all money I wouldn't throw at one" is probably the best advice

I can resource the rear end modification and have sounded that out so thats not a problem

front end seems a lot of effort and prolly for silly money when the original it works just fine as it is

I suppose the gearing would be altered if a the smaller rear is fitted.

As For Brakes I have just over hauled them new pins rubbers etc, for the MOT and I am waiting info from

Maxtons regarding the front springs as I have measured them for length and sent the details off

which really will be enough spent on a summer play thing

Indeed. anything else and you'll never get it back when you sell it or on an insurance scheme, with all that extra-cash you could buy something better to start from..

Erm brakes should be good then providing you changed the slider rubbers and greased the springs up properly.

Just get the best rubber you can for the standard wheels and it rides fine.

Especially for general road riding.. can push it quite hard in good conditions ( in the dry I used to grind the blobs off the footpegs quite quickly)

On a track / if your an insane (dangerous) road rider then you'd want to improve things, but then consider the amount being spent and could spend it on somethign else.

if your building a period class race bike (i.e. pre 1988 etc) then you can have some creative fun and end up with something pretty jazzy (at a cost!!)

AHH, Good. For a second there I thought you were talking about the spring clips under the pads, Wouldn't want any grease in there would we !!!
