I have them in me car, but they have a recomended life of 60000 mile and are standard fitment in it.
I had some cold splitfire plugs in me FZR when i got it and it was a right bitch, would flood all the time and foul up very moment you wasnt wide open. The best thing i ever did was put it back to standard. I would maybe use them in a race bike but deffo not on a road bike.
But if there in it already i would leave them in if it runs well enough.
Cheers
Ian

I do prefer Nippon Denso plugs to ngk's in my nc though
Interesting, why do you prefer NDs over NGK???
I'm sure I get better mpg from NDs over NGKs in the Transalp.....

I did try Iridiums once & saw no advantage in any way, shape or form.

Because they are 8mm (tiny!) and there are only 3 models of bikes that use them.

New tooling to manufacture them plus less volume equals higher cost!

If you think the ER9/10's are dear then try the ngk 8mm race plugs. :o

Sorry for getting off topic...
I was hoping for a reply from somebody who'd used them.. to see if they had good or bad results.. with the ZXR I found it actually ran better on the standard plugs!

Next time I change the plugs i'll just get standard.

But to go off topic.

Cammo... the NGK raceplugs (The ones without electrodes) I can get a set about the same price as the normal plugs are they suitable for a road bike?

Since using ND's ive never had any running problems with my bike (fouled plug etc) like ive had when running NGK's. Plus i swear it feels more alive with ND's fitted!

used them in my old 99 rrx blade and i could not tell the diference have them in a cb13 only reason was the claimed longer service life as they claim the tips don;t erode away like a conventional plug , have had no issues with them so far. wether they are worth the extra cost over normal plugs the jurys still out : only really bought them for the blade at the time for the claimed extended service life as getting plugs in and out an old blade is a bstd job vfrs are a doddle by comparisin.

I haven't had any issues with them in my racebike, but I was told (by a reputable bike mechanic) that they were more suited to engines with higher compression than standard and can foul more easily in a standard engine.

I think they only come in 10 and 11 heat range so not really suited to my roadie.
