To update slightly, got the quote from the machinest to clean it up, wire wheel/ polish, £150!! So bought a bench grinder and some mop. Will do it myself for a 1/3rd of the price and get to keep the grinder.

JHA pipework cleans up real nice too. Here's the pipes from my old SP-style full system.

Just realised its been a while since I updated, I got a grinding wheel with wire wheel attachment although it was so underpowered. Any pressure applied and the poor thing would die. So took the guard off my angle grinder so I could fit the larger wire wheel on and used that. It shook like hell but worked well.

Got a slight problem sealing the rear headers as they are each only held on with one spring and it doesnt seem to be sealing very well.

Ive got some RTV (or RVT cant remember) sealant that Ive used on the rest of the joints but wasnt sure about using it where it joins the block as wasnt sure if it would withstand the heat.

I use bathroom silicone. Cheap and works fine.

What on the headers where it meets the block? Does it not get far to hot for standard silicone?
