Hmm...

What I purchased was Silkolene Comp 4 10W-30 ( synthetic ester based ).

Think I shall try returning it to be on the safe side.

Lever action? do you have the right number of clutch springs / correclty installed?

On the topic of friction reducing 'super' lubricants, molybdenum disulphide appears to be safe, Haynes makes regular reference to areas in the engine that can use a coating ie. crank bearing surfaces, cams etc. The real nasty in terms of clutch performance is PTFE and associated compounds.
