I had a friend who fitted one of these to an SV. He got booted off a trackday after about 3 laps because of the noise! It is basically a through pipe. I think teh maggot has some semblence of baffling, whereas the megaphone has zip.

i didn't know that. its just that i love the design of this pipe, is there anything i could do to silence it or anything ? the akra comes with a Baffle,. will this not make any difference if it was in or out ?
I loved the design of my Tyga Maggot, but had to get rid of it because it was straight through and i couldnt find a baffle, this Akra has a baffle (i understand the R6 has Cats etc wokring with it) but i thoguth witht he baffle it may be Quieter ?
i did run my VFR with the illegal Maggot for a few months and never got into trouble (touch wood)

i know you will say this will be EXTRA loud etc, but dont all Bikers love the sound of loud bikes etc ?
i dont know about yous, but when im walking somewhere i get all excited when i hear other bikes etc. puts a smile on my face

thanks for all your Advice, its much appreciated,
I (Love) this Site !!!!!!!!!!

My mate has this fitted to his '08 R6 and it's ridiculously loud. It's not much quieter with the DB killer in, he's just bought another slip on to use on track days as his decibel-o-meter states its way over the 105 limit to comply with the track day regulations.
Don't buy it.
Don't buy it.

And by the way, I've had a maggot fitted to my NC30 and his R6 with the megaphone was a touch louder un-baffled.

you say a Touch Louderalexwitham wrote:And by the way, I've had a maggot fitted to my NC30 and his R6 with the megaphone was a touch louder un-baffled.

also the R6 is 200ccs larger,
SORRY im just trying to make my self feel better if i manage to get it fitted, I lvoe the look of it, also my bike is fitted with the Tyga body kit(sorry) so i fele it would look good with that kit etc.
what i dont understand is, surely a unbaffled 400 sounds just like a road legal 1000-1300cc Street bike ? therefore you shouldnt get pulled ?
so people on GSXR1000s and R1s get pulled for having Stock Exhausts ?
also hwo about people who ride Choppers/harleys etc ? they dont even have Cans

just wondered. thanks Again

Dude. Take off your maggot, and start your bike up. That is what the megaphone will sound like. If you like the sound of it then buy one.

but not to ride through town to work etc and back at late times :S
but i just dont understand why ???
my current Exhaust on my VFr400 is quiet ;( (BAFFLED)
am i right in thinking a unbaffled 125 would be quiter than a unbaffled 400 and same with a 1000 etc, or are they all F.ing LOud and very similar. ?
thanks Adam

Go back to the bits where I explain (briefly and unscientifically I admit) how a baffle works. Then find the bit where it says the R6 has 3 cats and a collector box to reflect back into, and the VFR nothing.
Then do what we've said, go riding for half an hour and see if you like it. You won't.
