I reckon the ebay one is the better out of them all.

The AT one - calling it a baby blade..lol. Not worth £1700 at all

The PH one - stay away..that is worth a grand..

So, ebay all the way!

As chris (Hanna) says, get a good look at it and don't take any money with you...

the black / red one for 1100 looks the best out of all 3, providing there are no nasty surprises.

If you do buy that and get there dont buy it if its knackered, just say it isnt as described, we should knock together the defnitive buyers guide (with pics etc)

The 1700 is nice as its all original and looks to be low mileage, but it'd need a close inspection for me to warrant paying that kind of money.. and I think its too pricey.

The 'baby blade' comment and his street urchin looking mate doesn't inspire much confidence in that seller...

Didn't think I'd need to make a new topic just for this quick update.

So I got in contact with the owner of the NC30 on eBay (the £1100 one), and asked for some extra pictures. There's only 3, but I guess they're okay...

From what I can see, it doesn't seem too bad, it is 20 years old after all, small dent on the exhaust, maybe a crack on the rhs fairing, just above the 'n'? The owner said "the right hand fairing is slightly scratched but its only really the stickers that are scratched", your opinions?

I'm going to view it tomorrow, so I'll try and get some more photos if anybody is actually interested.

Thanks for all your help so far.

when you view the bike, leave ya money at home and don't wet yourself when you hear it start up. the sound is hypnotic and will have you running to the cashpoint in 10 seconds flat
have a good look, ask if you can have the fairings off.. take a strong torch if possible so you can get a clear look.

and ring him now to tell him NOT to start the engine before you get there, you want it running from stone cold to see if it has any starting issues and other problems

Agree'd on the ebay one as the best of the bunch.
Dont worry too much about mileage as these engines are very strong as long as they have been regularly serviced , oil, filter etc.
It does look quite good for the money they are asking and remember, never offer the asking price haggle like a Moroccan on speed!

Decent vfr's are rare in cornwall so if its as good as it looks then it could be a good buy, but dont be sold straight away, give it a good check over for any bodged repairs, blowing exhaust collars are common, check all the lights and electrics are all good.

Oh and btw your toms mate arnt you?
Im his older brother :rocks:

Right, I went to see the bike today.

It was so nice, that I'm going with the cash tomorrow to get it.

I made sure that it wasn't warmed up before I got there (checked whilst I was there), and it started up first time with no problems, idles well and sounds awesome. Only down side is that I won't have the money to insure it till some time at the start of June :(, but I suppose that means I've got time to do a bit of work to it.

So yeah, as of tomorrow, I shall be an NC30 owner, and my brother wants one too now haha.

@ChowderV4 yeah, he's always banging on about how his FZR's the best 400 going haha.

Did you look at things like wear on the chain and sprockets, look for fluid on the forks, or put a multimeter on the battery and reg/rectifier?
