That's just silly LOL

What you could do is follow the destroy it yourself Haynes manual and place the bike in the upright position and use the dip stick but make sure the dip stick isn't screwed into the thread when you check the level, funny how the word dip stick keeps popping up in this thread :grin:

I read the Haynes manual 30 seconds before I started filling it. Just missed the part at the top where it says "in an upright position" :whistle:

This might sound stupid will it be ok to check the oil on the rear stabnd.

Not silly at all, you need to have the bike in the upright position with both wheels on the floor, I manage to put the rear stand in and balance a chain on the stand, this holds the bike upright but doesn't lift it off the floor.

Block of wood under the side-stand will help. Becarful though, when it is level on the sidestand its easy to pushover...

If you put the bike on a paddock stand you tilt the engine forward
