ok more stuff done today the airbox is now fitted and the coils relocated to the frame rails...
started by riveting the scoops to the airbox and sealing the gaps with a fuel resistant filler.
this will give you an idea if just how much extra air will be forced into the airbox, my old ram air box used the standard holes.
Then some dummy fitting and lengthening on the HT leads so the will reach the plugs after fitting to the frame rails.
then came the messing about with the electrics for the coils, this had to lengthened alot.
new sub loom made by me
Then after a lot of drilling, swearing and general abuse I finally got the coils fitted to the frame and the loom and HT leads routed so that they dont foul anything.
airbox has now been fitted and the scoop is now held in place properly, bike fired up and ran well so I am happy with what I have acheived. Thats probably it until after Anglesea unless I get my yokes back and then I will be fitting the RVF forks.

Bike is now back together everything checked and tightened ready for anglesea in 3 weeks, all I have to do is replace the front master cylinder and resevoir and put the nosecone and belly pan on....even gave it a wash and let the biuke get up to temperature to make sure there were no untoward leaks.
so with that done I have turned my attention to the engine.
looked like this:
now looks like this:
gearbox...in a box!
few more bits to strip off and then get to work on the casings giving them a good clen up, then need to strip down the fettled engine and start to reassemble replacing anything needed as I go.

You don't need any engine parts mate? I've the guts of a motor minus the crank and casings/head cheap to a good home

Old engine is now stripped to its bare bones, time to start cleaning the casings up, its actually a really really healthy little motor however it was a total unknown when i bought it...
and start to strip this one down and swap the innards over, decided I am going to get the crank balanced as its pretty cheap to get done and although it wont add any power its got to be a good thing.
oh...had a phone call the other day to say my yokes are nearly done so I may yet get the RVF forks fitted for a trackday this year, also got hold of another set of panels which will be fitted for anglesea....with a standard shape tail unit :)

Looks good mate, thank good for cam driven gears hey. makes them easier to work on.
Do yourself a favor and buy a set of Dyna Coils for it. I used there 5ohm mini dual output kit. makes a big difference.

Ok so I managed to pick up some bodywork cheap from this here forum and never being a great lover of the RS 250 tail section on the bike I have decided to go with the standard tail section for Anglesea and any other track day I do this year, so off with the heavily modified subframe that was on the bike and out with the grinder on a standard subframe that I had knocking around.
Had to unattatch everything before I could mount it then a quick spruce up with some black hammerite and jobs a gudgeon.
All going well the next pics next weekend will be of the bike wearing it's new clothes all prepped and ready for Anglesea the following weekend.
Sweeeeeet
