Your better off giving him a call as he's uber busy at the minute. Took him a day or two to respond to my email but I wasn't in any rush. His service is spot on. Just make sure you give him a buzz if you're in a hurry.

cheers for the advice mate, just ordered with wemoto instead, getting an rvf oil pan gasket instead so i could get them all at the same spot.

Il be buying an alternator off him soon i think but i wont be in as much of a hurry

Ref the spacers - get some proper ones, don't bodge it any more..the poor bike

A bit of a history lesson ref my experience -

I bought a bike, looked straight, all good, apart from I knew it had been in a fight witha Focus...and lost.

I was going to use it as my race bike base - I stripped it all down as one of the front head mounts was snapped and it needed sorting, so new head on and so on.. Came to refit the engine and would it buggery line up. The frame looked sorted, all straight but it was tweaked.

I got a new frame and used that...engine went in lovely.

So...if you come to fit all these engine bolts and they don't go..then sack the frame. Get another, they are cheap enough.

I understand that the frame MAY be bent,and im sorry to hear yours was, but I just dont have the money, I only came to afford the bike because I got compensation from when a taxi driver collided with me on my bros.

I'm only suggesting washers because i cant get a measurement of the spacer.

On the other hand, new sump and gaskets on the way, I'l have a leak free bike without a bodged sump nut which is progress Luckily from all this i discovered ricks parts which will get me an alternator a wee bit cheaper than from ebay

I hear you. But if you don't fit the right spacers (and measurements are easy to come by) then you will be guilty of a really shoddy bodge.lol

frames are cheap - really cheap. As you ae in Ireland, do you need a V5? I have 3 frames in the garage - 1 bent, 1 powdercoated black (for me) and another powdercoatied a light grey.white - spare.

I've given my last spare sent of spacers away, but am certain we have people on here (Geoff33) that can send you a set of spacers fo the bike for not a lot of money.

Worth doing it right as it is a fundamental part of the bike - having an engine bolted in correctly, straight and witht he right torque settings.

It'll be right...but if not..fix it properly

is rick slow to get parts off? I sent him an email yesterday for gaskets as hes the only place i can find that stocks all the ones i need without buying an entire kit, but i need them sooner than later

Careful, as Japanese bikes' M10 bolts are finer-pitched than the typical ones most places have.

Its a beautiful old 250, in really good cond, with a scorpian pipe. Dont make em like they used to, that goes for the vfr too. The new cbr250 is a hideous single cylinder yoke, the modern vfr's are nice for what they are but the line has really shifted from its racing heritage

Re threaded the middle bolt (the one nearest your left knee as you're sitting on the bike) as a bolt wouldnt catch so thats holding nicely now. Wasnt buying a single spacer from david silver spares so for the moment i have washers bridging the gap. The front left mount turned out to have been rethreaded to a 12 so I just cleaned the thread with a size twelve tap and used a replacement bolt of the right size. Bit of a bodge? Perhaps but an improvement on 2 bolts missing... now onto the sump
