Detonation generally result of low octane fuel - looks like he doesn't need knock. As far as we use same HT coils Ignitech doesn't make spark better.
Garyboy, have you spark advance map installed to your Ignitech module ?

What I mean is, too much advance will cause knock, so having a knock sensor would be needed if you want to take the advance near the limit.

You can increase rhe rev limit also.
Pobably not a great idea for a standard engine, but cheaper than an hrc cdi if you need to raise it

But you have red box on your bike. It should derestrict and increase limit to max.
