Detonation generally result of low octane fuel - looks like he doesn't need knock. As far as we use same HT coils Ignitech doesn't make spark better.Wozza wrote:If you use higher octane fuel you could use more advance. Though ideally you want a knock sensor.
Garyboy, have you spark advance map installed to your Ignitech module ?

What I mean is, too much advance will cause knock, so having a knock sensor would be needed if you want to take the advance near the limit.

You can increase rhe rev limit also.PARUS wrote:What is the purpose using Ignitech ? It's only able to change spark advance. I don't think it'll give you more performance.
Pobably not a great idea for a standard engine, but cheaper than an hrc cdi if you need to raise it

Some on ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HONDA-CBR400-RR-N ... 2c5bafdb84
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HONDA-CBR400-NC29 ... 1c182e72df
Cheaper one on yahoo Jap:

If you have the cdi connector you can make the loom from scratch using new connectors, a lot easier to buy one though!

But you have red box on your bike. It should derestrict and increase limit to max.Cammo wrote:You can increase rhe rev limit also.PARUS wrote:What is the purpose using Ignitech ? It's only able to change spark advance. I don't think it'll give you more performance.
