I cleaned the forks up because they were minging (not my fault!)-

and I also cut the standard mudguard off the front to fit the R1 mudguard a little better. Here they are in the bike-

A (very!) roughed out rear caliper hanger, it's only on there like that to make sure I got the measurements right. I think the proper one will be made from thicker ally rather than the 4.7mm I used here, just because the caliper bolts need somewhere to thread into and it'll avoid the need to use spacers to hold the standard caliper out from the disc-

Some ally dogbones just to hold the rear of the bike up

and a side on view of not much happening!

I'll get some more done today hopefully

Looking forward to seeing how this develops. I've got to sort the air/fuel issues with mine before i use it in anger.
I may be forced to part company with it as i need to raise funds for a new addition to the family (one with 4 limbs, not 2 wheels

Don't suppose the 4jh came with any useable plastics you wanna sell, just dropped mine on a straight road,
think i just overbraked the front end n it went down hard on the right side, need the main right hand panel (as you sit on the bike) and the Nose/cockpit fairing, willing to pay cash if you have em and are willing to ship em to me in weymouth in dorset. DT4 9DB.
Cheers Q.

Sorry, the plastics went a while ago.
I've done a bit more on the bike (pics later on today when I remember!). The bike is wired using the 600 loom and there's life in the fuel pump, plus the engine turns over on the starter which is nice.
I need to paint the wheels (white!), sort the seat unit mounts out and dig the swingarm chain rubber out from wherever I put it (somewhere 'safe'

Re: A N Other 3TJ 4/6 in the offing
Righty-o, I have done some more stuff to the bike :)
The Thunderace front end is in and the brakes are plumbed-

That's an R1 mudguard (2004 I think).
I fitted the R6 shock using an adapter-

and made a pattern to use as the airbox bottom-

with the Ramair filters fitted over the top, the tank will be the airbox lid-

and fitted the TRX rear wheel into the swingarm-

that's a mock up of the proper caliper hanger.
and I cut and shut the front fairing to take a single round headlight. It's off a 3EN1 FZR400 and a little larger than I wanted but I just couldn't bring myself to put H*nda parts (CBR400) on my bike

It's getting there, slower than I wanted but faster than I feared! I've had it up and down the street (it's still taxed and MOTed!) and it feels ok. I can't wait to ride it on new tyres :)

Nice work kayla i like your style
What is it exactly you've done to the shock mount? looks like a massive extention and converted the bottom mount from a eyelet to a fork type mount???

It's a shock adapter-

It's so you can use a 2006-on R6 shock on a 3TJ. The extension puts 50mm on the length of the shock.
