no probs, was not meaning to be anyway argumentive just debating the pros and cons of being a short git, lol.

BTW blade1 has she tried sitting (not riding) on the bike without the seat on? I tried out of curiosity and found it didnt make a great deal of difference. perhaps try this first before you shave the seat and find its still too wide, saves ruining a good seat.

You could try adjusting the shock spring preload to the minimum and see if it helps to lower the rear.

It might affect handling somewhat (nothing too detrimental for road riding IMO), but it might make all the difference in increasing her confidence in the bike. When she's more comfortable with the bike you could gradually increase it back to what it should be.
